
Bernard Dady (Head of Education Transformation)
Bernard is an educational strategy, design and technology professional who leads Gaia’s training and professional development service and advises the Company on matters educational.
Bernard has extensive experience of developing initiatives and maintaining strategic partnerships between private sector organisations and forward-thinking educational providers. He is a published author and editor with strong ICT skills brought to bear in the generation of a wide range of published material. He has several years of experience in client and bid side advisory work in the design of new schools and integration of their ICT systems. Bernard has worked in education for over 30 years as teacher (Sheffield), adviser/inspector (Kirklees), education action zone director (South Bradford) and local authority strategic manager (Bradford). Until early 2010 he was the BSF Programme Director for Tribal Group PLC where he worked as a consultant adviser to several major contractors on the design of new schools.
Bernard has specialist knowledge in education, especially of: learning & teaching; curriculum development, learning space design and the application of ICT. He leads a team of educational professionals to offer quality assured support for ICT implementation and effective use in all phases. He has broad knowledge and experience of a wide range of hardware and software solutions commonly used in the education sector and is a member, and accredited tutor, of Naace (The ICT Association).
Joe Basketts (Senior Educational Technologist)
Joe is passionate about the contribution that technology can make to all aspects of life, particularly the education of children. As a teacher and ICT subject leader he worked hard to ensure that technology was making an impact across school, an approach which he continued as a local authority advisor, independent consultant and most recently as founder and Education Director of Fantastict – a national consultancy and CPD organisation. His professional experience spans all phases of education including class teaching, school building projects, technical/curriculum liaison, local authority procedures and practices. Within the field of ICT and education his specialisms include: effective pedagogy, curriculum development, ICT mark and self review framework (registered assessor), digital media and music.
Jon Rashid (Head of Gaia Studio Services Team)
Many of Gaia’s projects in academies, schools and colleges are suppoirted by the programmers and artists in Gaia’s Studio Services Team. Jon leads this team and manages its deployment in the creation of innovative digital media for the education sector, including: 3D, video production, interactive technologies and app production. Jon has a fascinating background as a programmer, CAD specialist and CGI artist and architect. Jon’s credits include Sonic the Hedgehog in the gaming world and the animation of Dangermouse for TV. Jon was previously the CGI Manager for Cosgrove Hall Digital. Now working with Gaia’s education clients he has initiated developments across the curriculum which help students learn through visual media and engage with the design and production processes that are so high valued in the digital media and computer aised design sectors.
